RADIATA PINE :

Radiata pine (pinus radiata) is a sustainable plantation specie mainly found in Australia, New Zealand and South America. It is a specie that grows well in subtropical to temperate climate.

Radiata pine is a light yellowish coloured timber. It is a medium durable timber and used for many applications ranging from structural timber, furniture, mouldings, housing components and packaging material. It has very nice finish after machining.

We use Radiata Pine to make finger joint laminated board, solid laminated board, mouldings, DIY products and core for primed coated products.

Grading Rules for Radiata Pine FJLB – A Grade are:

1. Top face clear, white colour, intermingle with occasional light pinkish colour.   
2. Bottom face accept minor defect, eg: live knot, bird eye, etc
3. Brown, and dark colour are segregated from the white, and laminated separately 
4. Open defect, dead knot, blue-stained not accepted
5. Timber is free of resin
6. Quarter/semi quarter sawn to be laminated in one piece
7. The small percentage of flat sawn to be finger jointed with quarter/semi quarter to sustain stability of board

We choose Radiata pine in addition to our timber mix because of its good timber quality, stability of the timber and also consistency and sustainability of supply. Most of our timber comes from New Zealand and Australia FSC certified mills/forests and therefore eco-friendly. The good forest management from these two countries ensures long term and stable supply of timber.

The use of Radiata pine is on the rise in Asia, particularly in the furniture industry, both here in Indonesia and other countries like China and Vietnam. We believe through our effort, the Radiata pine panel/board will be accepted as a significant component in the panel/board market.
