KEMIRI :
Our Kemiri trees come from North Sumatra (Kemiri is also known as Aleurites moluccana).
The trees are planted and grown for their, Kemiri fruits used for spices and herbs. When they reach an approximate age of 10 – 15 years, the harvest of the fruits becomes uneconomical. Therefore, the trees are being cut for their timber. The replanting of this species is on going and consistent due to its economical value in its fruits and timber.
The timber has natural characters such as: bending, twisting and warping. Thus making it a hard timber to process and is limited to only a few products.
Some of our Kemiri products are:
-
Nisobo / Tasobo
-
Finger Joint Laminated Board (FJLB)
